Beginners Guide To ABAP – Module 1 – SAP System Overview

Hi and welcome. This is the first post in a series that will form the basis of this introductory ABAP Training course called the Beginners Guide To ABAP.


We will kick things off with looking the High Level Architecture of a typical SAP system. This will involve the Technical Architecture of an SAP system and why Platform Independence is so important.

We will then move on to discussing the Environment that our ABAP programs will run on. This involves the Work Processes and the basic structure of an ABAP program.

The last part of this introduction to ABAP will be about looking at a running SAP system. This will cover the typical Business Model Overview followed by taking our first look at the ABAP Workbench.
